Jacobite Swargarajyam - Review of sorts

Many people had told me JSR is a beautiful movie. It's not a comedy movie but still a feel-good worth a watch one. We have been watching quite a few movies in theatre of late and the movie had been running for two weeks, so we went in. This movie began with Dubai sand dunes which itself took me back to my Dubai Days.

We had been in Dubai for 6 years. My high school education till tenth in Indian High School and staying near clock tower, Deira. My father was working in the Indian Counsulate so we know a bit more about the Indians in Gulf.

My Achan is notorious for sleeping through movies and going out in the pretext of phone call and not coming back as the movies never entertained him or were too violent or loud for his taste. But this movie, when I called him, his phone was switched off and he mentioned to Amma that we should go for this movie, again. That's a big achievement for this movie, in my eyes.

The whole movie- the dialogues, the family interaction, the places, the school, the in roads, desert rides, the Etisalat, the Trade Center etc bought in memories and made my eyes misty. I never felt this movie was our story as Vineeth accurately points out it is Greg's story. But I have seen many people in similar situation, duped for no mistake of theirs, their passports (only possesion) being taken away, put in jail etc and their relatives or friends crying for help during the Amnesty. That's when we knew what Dubai also is.

When my relatives and friends come back from Gulf with suitcases full of perfumes, electronic goods, dresses, sarees, pencils, toys etc, I realize it cost them every sweat to fill it with love and surprises for their loved one. The way they toil day and night for that one money order to be sent home.

This story is an inspiration for many. How in a make or break situation we can take the threads in our own hands and chose to make something out of it. The values and ideals instilled by Jacob and Shirley, were the forces behind all his children's actions. Every time Jerry thought he is down, it was his mother's confidence that made him chose wisely. I never wished I had parents like them, as I am proud that my parents are also like them as we have been in similar situations like this . Parents are made of different materials, I must say.

Family and relationship is the ultimate possession. This movie has successfully helped me think about it and realize it. The actors were all to the mark. Shaan Rehman helped in emoting with songs and awesome lyrics, cinematography by Jomon T John was a feast to eyes, the sub-titles were to the mark, kudos Vivek Ranjith, though I felt Arabic translation would have been good too (Though the acting was translation enough) and last but not the least Vineeth Sreenivasan, you were successful in dedicating this story to the world. On a different note it also made me think, Dufai pazhye Dubai alla😃

Polar Vortex, Water breaking and 16 hours of labor...

Since 3rd January itself the discussion was on, on how bad this winter is getting to. 6th January 2014 will be the worst, as the temperature will dip. I don't think it was a dip. It was a drown, a plunge. Here is a glimpse.

Courtesy: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/06/chicago-record-low-temperature_n_4548999.html
Snowman made by Amma and Myself 2 days before labor :)

Monday is officially a day for the record books in Chicago. The temperature at O'Hare hit 15 degrees below zero at 7 a.m. on Monday, breaking the previous record low for the date of 14 below, the Chicago Weather Center blog reports. The temperature dropped another degree, to 16 below, by 8. a.m. To make matters worse, the wind chill at O'Hare dropped as low as 42 degrees below zero and a wind chill warning remains in effect for the Chicago area through noon Tuesday.
The previous record low was set on both 1894 and 1988.
The city also will beat the record of the lowest high temperature ever recorded on Jan. 6 (previously: -1 degree) as it is all but certain the temperature will not top that all day Monday, the Weather Center reports. That record dates back to 1912.
As DNAinfo Chicago reports, the temperature of 16 below is colder than the 11 below temperature recorded at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica before 8.am.

So while this was happening outside, I was progressing inside :)
Since early 1 30 AM I started experiencing what was known as contractions. Even if I was not explained, I would have known. But I consoled myself saying its false contractions, and will go ahead with the morning appointment even if the weather is harsh as expected. I let Amma and Ratheesh sleep as just in case the day is THE day, they will need some rest and if its false then why bother them. But by 4 am I was not able to take it, so I go to Amma's room and ask her to prepare cumin water. It is said if its a usual stomach pain, it will go away. But mothers are mothers. She gets a hunch that it is going to be a real deal. She prepares water, gives it to me along with an apple and goes on to do Sudarshan Kriya instead of going back to sleep. I try to go back to sleep, tossing and turning. No relief from the pain. Around 5 37 AM when I turn I hear a pop sound, and I know water-broke. I check and I am too excited to confirm. Now I call Ratheesh who wakes up with a bang and asks me to call the Doctor on call, brushes quickly and leaves to remove the snow turned into ice. It was Dr Kuppuswami on call, which makes me happy. She tells me, its cold out there and to reach the hospital asap with water leaking and not to make it a water gush :)
I drink Ojasvita(A healthy Chocolate drink) and leave to Hospital, after packing the hospital bag,  which is 15 min away. By the time we go down at 6 am, Ratheesh is still trying to scrape off ice and my nose is frozen. I can feel a pricking sensation while breathing the frozen air. We sit in the car, and he tries to start until the car actually starts at the 3rd try. BTW only emergency vehicles are allowed on this day and Chicago is shutdown. We reach by 6 45 AM, a long drive indeed.

As soon I reach there and I get onto the bed my water breaks completely. I am strapped and we wait :-) I was on ice-chips and cold water and that very moment I wanted to gorge on so many things. Then when the going got tough hunger was tossed out.

I was busy skyping with Viji. We were finalizing the names for a girl as well as a boy, though my inner calling said its going to be a boy ;). Chanted Guru Puja and joked through most of the contractions.

The contractions was not as expected (remember I was joking part) so they induced me with the help of pitocin. It was imperative as I lost all the amniotic fluid and we had to keep the infections at bay. It did its job really well and quick. The contractions which were 5 minutes apart became one, every two minutes, all of a sudden. After a shot of epidural in the nth moment (They did not check my dilation before administering epidural which must have been  8 cm, as soon after epidural was given I was 9 cm dilated which took me and Ratheesh by surprise. I was ignorant of this fact, as I thought I was still at 3 or something). I relaxed for an hour before we began the pushing part. At 5 47 PM the hero aka Vedanth Ratheesh comes out literally with a bang :) as he slipped through before the Doctor could guide his shoulders. I tore badly, and had a 3rd degree tear, but it was all worth it at the end.

I would like to thank Dr Narmadha Kuppuswami, Kristi s'(Before and after nurses) and Belinda. They were amazing. I also thank Dr Patel, the anesthesiologist for being kind to the lady in labor ;)

With Vedanth around we continue our journey, with a page of our life turned...

I realized I needed to write it down somewhere as the memory of the labor is sort of fading away. I would not change any minute of the day even if I was given a chance as I lived every moment completely.

AK-35 and not a Pappu!!!!

Yesterday was a Big Day! Bigger than the Valentines Day. Why? What's so special about it? One of my YES! 2 Teacher, Mr Arvind Varchaswi, (Nephew of H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar :) My Guru) and Ms Srividya Natarajan (A good friend of mine and a YES!+ Teacher) got married in the Ashram. Ashram weddings are worth the wedding. Red and gold wedding which a Bride or a groom has always imagined become reality in this place which is 'Heaven' for most of us. And in the Presence of Master, No one can wish anything more.

Yesterday was also Celebration day for the three important people, who have touched my life. Ashok Prasad Ji, Suman and Kullu. It was their B-day. Ashok Bhaiya's Anniversary too along with his Birthday. Chala Cool :)  These three people are very much connected and also involved with the etching and polishing of my life. They required to be here on Anuboothi!

My sister had done YES!+ and was raving about it,when I was in Mysore. So I come to Mangalore and decide that I need to do YES!+. Sharika too was thoroughly in love with the same, which made the intensity even more stronger. At that time there was no YES!+ teachers here in Mangalore, so they were imported :). A date was announced and I called up Prashanth Etan who asked me to come to the Centre, in order to register. Happily I gallop to the Centre and register myself. Prashanth Etan tells me the teacher is here and I meet Ashok Bhaiya. OMG! This is the same person I always see with Guruji.

Yes! Ashok Bhaiya was G's PA for long. I smile even more. He asks me my name. (Yippie! Guruji's PA wants to know my name :P) I say, 'Vini' and he nods his head and asks me about the various colleges in Mangalore. And I volunteer the information and it goes on. By then Sharika is there and he says, "Come lets go to the nearest College, Vinu and Saarika :)". We have corrected him, about our names, but he loves calling us this way, so we happily oblige! He gives talks and says we need 60 students for YES!+. I have registered, so only 59 more to go :) He is this body of energy and total surrender, I realize.

Our heads are thinking 60 students?!?!? And we organize this really big talk for him at Canara College, Mangalore. We are proud of our work and call him to come. He says over the phone, "Listen! Vinu and Saarika, I am not going to come for the talk. I have sent 2 beautiful and smart girls to give the talk. (I am literally reeling!) Their names are (No ways! No ways!) Vinu and Saarika." We argue! We give him justifications and what not. But he won. We spoke to over 500 students that day. We got registrations trickling to 10-11 students. Since that day there was no looking back. On the D-Day we had 60 Students for the course, including me :). Speak of Sankalpa!

Ashok Bhaiya is a true leader, who believes in empowering youth, and making more leaders. He does this beautifully through Knowledge, Sadhana, Fun and Surrender. He made our lives a Guru Story. Whenever you call him, you know he will answer the call. He is this push a person needs, the lift a person picks. I became a teacher and am still in awe about the way he takes the sessions. I am so proud to say that I took my first course, sitting beside him. He is a beautiful being, whose watch word are love, care and The Guru. :)

Tea and the smile :)

There are certain things money cannot buy. It is so true. I have realized that to make one happy, it is the small small realizations which can make us go a long way. For instance, today morning I decided to drink a cup of tea. As I reached the kitchen, the thoughts of Amma, came racing in my mind, like movie-reel. She would be moving about in the kitchen, with the clang of utensils, and water boiling. A smile flashes on my face.I realize I had forgotten to switch on the dishwasher, and having very less utensils around, I might not be able to make some tea :(.

Then my eyes go on to the microwave. Asha Mema from Florida whisks through my memory. I have seen her routine, when in she puts everything necessary into the cup and microwaves. Eyes glued to it, just in case it boils over. The tea begins its action and is about to boil over and I rush to get it out. As I remove the plastic wrap, I get this beautiful nostalgic smell of tea which is sold during the Vagacharth in Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple.

Standing in a queue, at 3 AM all dressed yet eyes refusing to see the excitement, Achan will buy the tea from the small tea-booth. For your information, we still are in the queue. The way he mixes the tea, whisking it up and down, without dropping even a drop, is a mouth-opener :). The smell of the tea is unique, which cannot be expressed. But this is what ran through me, when I just smelt the simple tea, in US. I had a smile throughout the day.

It is so beautiful how memories can make our day. Just a good thought and my day is done. Here is a thought which can hopefully bring that smile which is lost on your face. Make it find your lips and eyes. There you are.
:)

2 Songs :)

Will there be any person in this world who can choose two songs out of gazillion great songs? I wonder. Then I re-read the topic. Its a "Challenge". So here it is...

* The song that came to my mind first was, "Raat Kali Ik Kwaab me ayee... " From the movie, "Budha Mil Gaya" . I heard this song before, but after Art of Living, heard The Vikram Hazra singing and I fell for it :)

* 'In the Ghetto' by Elvis  Presley. I love the lyrics, and it leaves one silent and gives a reality-check, on life.

* 'Oru Chembaneer Pooviruthu njanomale'. I am a Malayalee , so a Malayalam song is imperative. This is a song from the movie 'Sthiti', sung by Sri Unni Menon. It is a beautiful song. Even if you don't understand Malayalam, the melody is enough to make you sit back and relax.

You made me...Me :)

I don't remember the first day, when I even glanced at you or held you in my hands. The earliest memories of you, was in our famous 'Doctor uncle' veetil, when you would push the stool in the room, throughout the home, making the screechy noise, or hold the window-grill, while Amma attempting to feed you, or even better, when Amma put us both in the grey cradle so that we do not slide off. You were there, a cute, cuddly, round, bundle of joy :)

Then we come to the famous Blue veetil (I can see your smile). My cutie-pie's memory would be the crow pecking on your finger, as you were again near the window-sill, holding on to the idli and dancing. Remember my famous Monappa Ice-cream eating class :)

Then our family progressed to new home. Our home in 1993. We had so much fun and memories associated with our trip to Dubai and our short but great stay. You were more of this sharing kind, I realized. Dad used to give you money for your snack and you would buy snacks, Yes! but not eat them. Why? So that you can share it with your mother and sister. You would always save money, so that we kids can use it during 'Our Rainy Day.' Then we land in Mangalore, where our craziness grew by leaps and bounds. Whatever endeavor or madness I took up, you always were a part. Extreme fights :)(Reference: Vinu etan and hangers), extreme love (Reference: when we would end up supporting each other.), extreme fear (Reference: I cannot enter your room nah), extreme sorrow (Reference: Ammuma leaving us and also in a way me in US). Extreme beauty (Reference: Your middle cupboard).

There are so many things we shared, so may things we cared for. We created our own small world around us, which only we both could understand, we dream in.There are times when we lost cool, we cried, we laughed, we ate, we drank, we walked, we played, we roamed, we attended courses, we make-uped :) (Late night snack, google talk, Charmuri, Panipuri, shopping, movies, Mysore surprise, Chayanna meetings, our quick birthday surprises, you relishing my half-cooked curries etc etc) all with STYLE.

You added a new dimension in my life. I learnt to care and share from you.... I learnt compassion and dedication from you. You taught me how a person can be creative and patient.... Many more... Know that you are valued and u are this extra precious crazy gem in my life, whom I treasure. I love Nature, for having given you...to me :)

Happy Birthday to you!!!! I love you :)

Oh!!!! Yes!!!

Am married???!!! Yeah! Still wondering if it has happened, largely in the positive sense. This is because have been continuing with 'my' life beautifully amalgamated to 'our' life. There has been certain changes which is so beautiful to make. During this period I realised, marriage is so much about accepting the similarity and enjoying the differences. I have been travelling and getting to know so much and realised so much more is there to know. Would be flying off to US in a matter of few days. Another beautiful family is being added to my 'I wish I need not have to leave them' LIST.... More to come soon....

...

Off late have been putting effort on becoming effortless :) I know it sounds funny, but never is, when you are at the end point. My countdown at The Yenepoya School has begun. Leaving the gems is going to be an effort. They are so sweet, cute, awesome, innocent, smart, fine, creative and above all they are CHILDREN.

I never had much trouble in leaving jobs, owe it to Bawa and Dinesh Da... But this is going to be challenging. In my previous jobs, they needed me, but here, I NEED THEM.... They are this unconditional beings who catch you off-guard, yet you don't complain and are happy... They let me be me... Even if you don't let them BE, they know how to BE :) They are this embodiment of THREE ENERGIES :) Brahma, Vishnu and the Shiva Energies... They are the InnoGuru (Innocent Guru)...

                                                 Althaf, Tahshir and Mazin

They are the world, they Make the World... They made me a better person :) Every kid is special..Whether it is Suzna's cuteness, Nihali's Nakras, Prerna's hug, Sasha's stories, Shubha's answers, Sim's talk or Muzna's silence. Going to miss them... Ashoor is this silent victory, Ayush is the Scientist of the class, Calvin is the Travel-guide, Farhaan is the Elvis Presly roled into Harry Potter, Krishaan is the Whiz Kid, Althaf is the MJ and chota nakrebaaz , Mazin's smiles floors us all, Tahshir's focus and innocence, Hasnain's silent smile and firing the dance floor, Marwan's Miss Miss!!! Can I ???; Rehan, the adjustable and 'Its fine' boy, Rishik whose life is football and untainted honesty,Shanshank! the Bunny Mediator, Ehsaan, the smart one and the prompt leader, Narasimha, the enthusiastic and never Give up Champ, and Aryan the Yo!Man with tons of 'I get It' :)

IV A! The class into which I was welcomed! The doors which they opened, the experiences they shared, the times they shed tears, the moments they feared.... The success they held high and failures they stepped, the first-times they smiled at, the confidence they hugged, the sharing they learnt, the criticism they accepted! It was fun! It was more... It was the place where we found each other :)

Love you all...

Masterchef TYS!!!

Masters already, they ventured into the realm of cooking and surprised us once again. A 'Salad-Making' Competition for Grade 4th 'A' was organized. Enthusiasm is contagious. We thought of 'Ifs and Buts' and they thought 'Other Wise'. The whole class was divided into 4 groups on the basis of their houses- Jasper, Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire. Then they went on whole swing.

Within seconds the tables and chairs were pushed to the side- Tables arranged in the 4 corners of the classroom- A leader emerges from the group- Ideas are transmitted- GD begins-  MBA candidates can never hold their head up high, if they were to hear the discussion that took place, That too in the absence of the moderator. The pros and cons were discussed and basically everybody was kept happy- Work delegated and they started the actual preparation.
Two of them were arranging the paraphernalia of cooking (Utensils, cutting board, knife, spoons, plates, salt, ketchup, bread, mayonnaise etc etc ), while the others run to clean the vegetables brought. Once again GD begins, without prior notice. The teacher is not very happy with this discussion. The smart kids notice and they reduce the hullabaloo factor and put across their ideas through their work. Conversations range from the current program on air, Masterchef India (how Akshaye can improve, what dishes need to be prepared in the show, how to increase TRPs etc!!!) Akshaye please do listen ; Stunts while chopping; Gossiping about their mom and their laws in the kitchen; how is their expertise in this field different from others; and what not. Ekta Kapoor you are gone :) Dialogue Masters are here...

The dishes just arrive... They are ready with names, nutrition value and the uniqueness of their dish. And yes they were yummy. Prepared and mixed with lots of love, effort and innocence and garnished with cutie-pie smiles... Not only stomach but even the hearts were filled.

The things which were small, but can go long way in my life were noticed. Though it was a competition, the entire class was united in the spirit. Helping came naturally to them. Ideas were passed on. The group was held together with a inchie-winch of compromise and adjustment as well as 'art of listening'. Comparison of work was never there. They went on to help the other group.

Towards the end what mattered to them was the 'Smile' on the faces of the teachers whom, they adored to the core...

What more is needed ? I was so full !!!

Sisters Ho tho Aise !!!

Memories of Mysore are coming back alive in the frames of life. During the II Year of our MSc we had blasts with all YES!+ teachers coming down. Gauri Di holds a special place. The first time she came down, we gave her a palatial house to stay, and a car driven by another YES!+ teacher i.e. our dear Sandeep Bhaiya, food in 5- Star hotels. Luxury sounds too small a word to describe my life then. The next time she came down, she had us three welcoming her. Anu went to pick her up in autorickshaw. She came down, and went to a so-so restaurant. We went on giving talks here and there, while evenings she used to take up courses. Yeah! She stayed in our PG J Woah.... Shri, Anu and me, always wanted to have Guru Puja in our room, and this happened for a week. Morning Sadhana with 4 of us doing it together, evening sharing her experiences with Guruji, Bawa & Dinesh Da etc etc would enrich us. One incident which I remember so coolly is how we started breaking PG curfew time of 9 PM to extend it by 2 hours.
One such evening Gauri Di and me decided not to have the huh huh...bad PG food!!!  So this decision was at 9:00 PM. What do we do now??? Decided to take another PG mates scooty and zoomed off to Mysore KD Road, to have a scoop of ice-cream. Gauri Di was so excited seeing the Ice-cream parlour that she forgot to put the stand and got down. Naturally Newton speaks of gravity, same thing happened here with scooty falling down. She looks at it and cross the road banging into a old-man. Oooofff!!!! Then we get our scoops and chat over it...  and zoom back. All girls night for sure!!!

Walking on the Waves of Life

Happening and happening is my Life. Its nice that I am always occupied. Its said when you take up the responsibility for the world, world takes responsibility for  you. This happens always when I travel for YES!+ Courses. Last to last week was in Manipal, Taking up course for smart youths there. Wow!Amazing! I was learning every moment of my presence there. Ashok ji too was there with us. Like how Kullu says, He drenches one in knowledge. The volunteers gang headed by Kullu (Kulpreet) had done such wonderful work there. Now they have even more dynamic people with them, with this course.

Went on a train ride, did Banana Boating and Water-Biking, went crazy with sand-bathing and walked on the shores of time and waves. Evening in a beautiful Damodhar Temple, ended with Blosssom in Smile and sharing of experiences.

Now currently entered the Corporate world. At same time time rooted in spirituality. Yes! I am taking up YES!+ here in Mangalore right Now.This is fun, seeing blossoming happen right in front of your eyes, and world appears so grand and great. No words to express, heart is full, eyes are numb. Just Gratefulness to the Master on having Chosen Me.

Psychological Thinkings....

Questions Psychology students are shot at with….

Here are some questions and sentences which nearly all psychology students had to face or are facing it. But mind you, this will go on forever.

  1. You study psychology? Oh my God! You can read my mind, I am sure. Can you read mine please?
  2. You can predict my future right!
  3. Psychology means you roam around and treat mental patients.
  4. I always wanted to take up psychology in my degree, but somehow…. Blah… Blah..
  5. Psychology is an interesting subject. I went through some books. They are so well-written and great.
  6. What job will you get as psychologists, other than being with mentally-challenged people?
  7. What is going on in my mind now?
  8. When did you exactly know that you need to be taking up psychology?
  9. So now since you finished psychology Masters you are a doctor now.
  10. You know everything in my mind now. This was told to me after one week of class in psychology.

You can add more. These things were played in random and repeated manner. Woah…..

Guru poornima Gift

Kaivalya all set to Deepen the roots

Amma watering Kaivalya

Here she is...

This Guru Poornima was special as we three musketeers were in Mysore for our Viva and practical exams, but managed to attend the Satsang by Arun Madhavanji (Senior AOL teacher & former trustee of VVKI) at Mysore , Jagmohan Palace auditorium. It was blissfull and even Kishore da(One of the first AOL Teachers) had come along. Wow it was just a treat needed. But missed Guru Puja :(.
Now the amin thing. This day Kaivalya came to our family. Who is Kaivalya???
Kaivalya is my plant. Took her along from the satsang. She is the Laxmi Taru plant.

jeevanekkhoj.blogspot.com speaks of Laxmi taru...

With global warming a distinct reality, vanishing winters, failed monsoons, deforestation, large scale tree-felling making way to the massive malls and huge apartment complexes in India , Gurudev has asked people all over India to plant as many trees as possible. One such special tree is called Simarouba . Guruji calls this plant "Laxmi Taru".

A massive plantation drive is on in Pune and other parts of India to plant as many such trees and others bearing fruits and flowers . Pune has taken on an initative called "Green Pune", as part of the Mission Green Earth project, a 100 million tree plantation campaign.

Laxmi Taru is said to have the following benefits :

  • This tree consumes highest amount of Carbon Dioxide and purifies the environment and can help in reducing the heat.
  • It can grow on barren land and reduces or stops the soil erosion. It requires very little water to grow. India has 60 million hectares wasteland and this land can be used for growing this tree.
  • Its seeds can give edible oil, non edible oil and diesel. The seeds have 60 to 75% oil as against 30 t0 35% in peanuts, soybean. One tree can give around 15 to 30 kg seeds and from that can get around 2.5 to 5 Lt oil and equal amount of oil cake which can be used for bakery items, vegetable oils,soaps,cosmetics,bio-diesel.
  • It has medicinal value, can be used to treat malaria and diarrhea.
  • The pulp of the seeds can be used for compost or drinking juice.
  • The cover of the seeds can be used for making of card board.
  • The wood of the tree can be used to make light furniture.

Welcome!? Student Days...

I can see the taglines in orkut, facebook and in chit-chats with my friends and others, how the discussion steers to the, coming to THE END of student days, nostalgia, excitement, anxiety etc etc… But I would love to look at it in another manner. My student days are just going to BEGIN.

A student is a person who has this I don’t Know consciousness and willingness to learn. Speak of emptying the cup in order to fill it. But right from my nursery days, promotion to the next class has always been with the feeling, I know, I learnt it all. This is how it has to be. I know. Now doing my Masters I have actually felt, I don’t Know anything, hence I am ready to work in the world outside.

When we start working, its again back to School days!!! Ok Ok… I agree minus lecture sessions, bunking, canteen chats, strikes, crushes, examinations, vacation, fees payment etc Instead filled with assignments, meetings, deadlines, salaries, TA, DA, Casual leaves, Boss Biting, weekend waits etc. But we as students have always learnt to make the best out of the things available. Hence, the day we quit being students, from that day World becomes a Bad place to live. Attitude of a STUDENT, will take us forward.
WISHING ALL MY FRIENDS A VERY BRIGHT FUTURE IN THEIR ENDEAVOURS AND ALL THE BEST TO THEIR COLLEAGUES TOO ;)

Last few drops of rain....

I never knew there were many people reading my blog other than me . Actually the comments which I get are actually overwhelming. So here are few snippets regarding my life in Mysore. Mysore is a chapter in life that I will turn to for reference. It was for the first time I was staying away from the family and taking responsibility for myself. But then Art of living had done its polishing work. Studies happened that’s it.

Psychology was just a bahana(reason). Yesterday while chatting with my friend I realized psychology was not the reason for me to come to Mysore. He had other plans. I still remember Chayanna (Swami Suryapada) telling my mother, after I bugged him into answering whether I will get a seat in Mysore and he says to my mother, “Your daughter will be more closer to her Master (Guru) now.” That’s so true. Sadhna, Seva and Satsang are no mere words now. A sense of direction is important for any youth now and I am proud my near & dear ones are in Art of living.

What will I miss in Mysore?
University, not the whole one, but the walking which we do most of the days. The Paying Guest life we had. We never felt we were away from home. Anu and Sri are my roomies as well as classmates. Now tho we have full fun! Thanks to all doing YES!+. The only regret Sri and we had at the end was, why we did not organize it before. Yes plus teacher Sandeep bhaiya…. Oh my God we all will miss You Bhaiya. But then AOL connections are for lifetimes.

Sonu akka and Ashwini, two gems in PG. One is the store house. Anything you want any time she’ll have it there in her room. Ashu is so innocent and childlike. We both together are known as Narad Munis(+ve manner). Btw this is her laptop.

We have visited all nook and corners of Mysore. Thanks to YES PLUS.

Now feeling bored. Went with Rishab (another volunteer, working (by mistake) in Infosys) to one college to arrange for intro talk. And had great time with Guru Stories. Now I realize how I used to waste time before AOL gossiping and complaining and the kicker-bike. If Rishabh reads it then he can’t stop laughing.

At the end of the day I can say we are Blessed to have The guru in our life.
